Following a number of stories in the media in regards to Justin Langer, Somerset CEO Guy Lavender said:

“There has been much speculation in the media with regard to Justin Langer and the Director of Cricket position at Somerset County Cricket Club. For clarity, I thought it would be helpful to make it clear that Justin has not applied for the post”.
