Somerset followers have got a huge summer of cricket to look forward to in 2013, details of which have just been released in next season’s fixture list.

The highlights include an opening home championship match against title holders Warwickshire at the end of April and five home FLt20 fixtures in July, all of which will be staged either on a Friday evening or a Sunday afternoon.

Somerset will play a four day game against Australia in June while in August for the first time ever the County will host two international one day games between England Lions and Bangladesh, before rounding off the home campaign with four day match against Surrey in September.

Chief Executive Guy Lavender said: “We are delighted with the fixture list for 2013. This year we have a later start to our home matches with a fixture against County Champions Warwickshire which is a fantastic way to open, after which we have very concentrated cricket throughout the core part of the summer.”

“Particular highlights include a four day game against Australia in June, after which its brilliant to see that all of our home T20 matches are either on a Friday evening or Sunday, which is ideal for out spectators.”

“We are delighted to have been awarded two ODI games between England Lions and Bangladesh A in late August which will be fantastic and is testament to the way that we are moving towards hosting international cricket at Taunton.”

He added: “We finish the season at home against Surrey on September 14th which is a great way to finish so all in all it’s going to be a packed out summer of cricket for our Members and Supporters to look forward to.”

Somerset Members will be entitled to half price entry to each of games between England Lions and Bangladesh A.
