Wisden – MCC Cricket Photo of the Year

Local amateur and professional photographers are being encouraged to submit their best cricket-themed images taken during 2013, as Wisden and MCC have teamed-up to run the renowned global photographic competition for a fourth successive year.

For the first time since the Wisden–MCC Cricket Photograph of the Year competition was launched in 2010, all eleven shortlisted entries will receive a cash prize, courtesy of a new sponsorship deal with digital marketing agency, 21six.  First prize will be awarded £1,000, two runners-up will each receive £750, and the eight other shortlisted entries will get £150 each.

The winning images in 2013 will once again be selected by a panel of independent expert judges appointed by Wisden and MCC, and headed by former Chief Sports Photographer of The Sunday Times, Chris Smith.

A shortlist of eleven entries will initially be chosen, from which a winner and two runners-up will be announced.  In addition to the cash prizes provided by 21six, the top three photographs will feature in the 2014 Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack, and all of the shortlisted entries will be exhibited at Lord’s throughout next year.

The 2013 Wisden–MCC Cricket Photograph of the Year competition, in association with 21six, is open to all photographers – amateur and professional – from across the world.  The only stipulations are that entries must have been taken during 2013 and in some respect have a cricket theme.  For further details please click here
