Somerset County Cricket Club is pleased to inform all it’s loyal members and supporters that Craig Kieswetter is in good health and is in a stable condition after being hit on the head through his helmet’s visor yesterday against Northamptonshire.

Craig has spent time at the local hospital and has undergone all the necessary tests and x-rays needed. The latest results have shown a broken nose and a fractured cheek bone, which over the coming days will receive further attention by the necessary specialists.

Somerset’s Director of Cricket Dave Nosworthy said: “Craig is in very safe and capable hands at this time. These freak cricketing accidents happen from time to time and I am confident with the right care that he will come through this set back. Naturally Craig will no longer take part in this match, and I am thus sure that you will all join in – in wishing Craig a speedy recovery.”
