Control of St James Street Gates handed back to SCCC
Another major step in the progress of the development of the County Ground has been completed this week.
Today has seen building contractors RG Spiller hand control of the St James Street Gates back to the Club. This means that the County Ground can now once again be accessed via St James Street whilst the pay and display car park on that side of the ground is now fully operational.
Somerset CEO Guy Lavender said: “This marks the end of the latest phase of the project as we approach the start of the season. To have the gates back open, the car park re-tarmacked and the temporary structures in place is fantastic and means that we are exactly where we need to be with the season just around the corner.”
Site foreman Sean Johnson was present to hand the gate keys over to Guy and said: “We are very happy with how the development is going at the moment. The weather has been kind to us so far despite the wind this week and we are keeping to the timings that we said we would.”
