Latest from Tregs
Pete Trego has been bowled over by the support that he has received for the events that have taken place so far for his Benefit Year.
The most recent on his busy calendar was a Golf Day at Weston-super-Mare on Thursday which attracted a large number of golfers and turned out to be a hugely successful and enjoyable occasion.
“We had a fantastic turn out and the course was in great condition,” he said. “We had the added excitement of a Mercedes car for a Hole in One prize on the 11th thanks to Mercedes Taunton which really brought a little bit extra to the day.
“In fact one of the players in my group came very close to winning it which would have been quite something.
“Tournament pro Marc Warren, who is on European Tour, came along and it was just brilliant for all of the golfers to see how he goes about his game and just how far he hits the ball.”
Talking about his year so far Tregs said: “The great thing has been the support that everyone has given to all of the events that have been arranged and I would like to thank Maz (Graham Mazarik), Richard Brice and Eric Cole for all that they have done to help so far this year.
“It makes me feel very proud to think that everybody is turning out for the things that have been arranged for my benefit year.”
On Thursday evening Tregs will be hosting the St George’s Day Quiz Evening for Somerset in the County Room about which he said: “I think it will be one of the rare occasions when the quizmaster knows less that everybody else in the room, but I am looking forward to catching up with everybody there.”
