Somerset 2nd XI v Worcestershire 2nd XI
Somerset Second XI are in T20 action today (Wednesday) when they entertain their counterparts from Worcestershire in two matches at Taunton Vale.
For the opening match Worcestershire won the toss and elected to field. Somerset found themselves on 6 for 2 having lost openers James Regan and Alex Mellor, but 63 from 46 balls for Josh Davey and a rapid 28 from Craig Overton meant that Somerset finished on 150 all out from their 20 overs.
An early breakthrough for Craig Overton saw the visitors lose their first wicket for just 12 runs but 32 from Richard Oliver and 54 from Alex Gidman steered Worcestershire towards the required total. The visitors reached their target in the final over as they finished on 152 for 6 from 19.2 overs to win by 4 wickets. Calvin Harrison was the pick of the Somerset bowlers and finished with figures of 2 for 11 from 2 overs. There was also a wicket each for Davey, Overton, Liam Redrup and George Dockrell.

Somerset won the toss ahead of the second match and elected to bat. Tom Friend top scored with 31 before he was run out whilst Max Waller (23) and Adam Hose (21) helped ensure that Somerset posted a total of 153 for 8 from their allotted overs. Unfortunately for Somerset, Worcestershire made a solid start and went on to score 157 for 7 from 19.1 overs to win by 3 wickets. Calvin Harrison was the pick of the bowlers this time with 3 for 20 whilst Redrup also grabbed 2 wickets.
