Double victory for Somerset 2nd XI
Somerset Second XI came out on top in two T20 matches against their Glamorgan counterparts at Taunton Vale yesterday (Tuesday).
The first match saw Somerset win the toss and elect to bat. Although Somerset lost three early wickets to find themselves on 24 for 3, 81 from Tim Rouse and a quickfire 32 from just 20 balls from George Dockrell steadied the ship and ensured that the home side posted a competitive total of 178 for 5 from their 20 overs. The visitors made a strong start and put on 74 for the first wicket but the Somerset bowlers really began to turn the screw and Glamorgan struggled to keep up with the required run rate. Dockrell was the pick of the Somerset bowlers with 4 for 22 and the visitors could only reach 138 for 8 from their allotted overs as Somerset won by 40 runs.

Again the Somerset bowlers kept it tight and 2 for 17 from Max Waller helped to ensure that Glamorgan were restricted to 155 for 6 from their 20 overs. Somerset started the run chase well as Adam Hose and Sam Underdown put on 47 for the opening wicket whilst Michael Bates scored 53 from 34 balls as Somerset reached their target with more than an over to spare to win by 5 wickets.
