Taunton Area raise over £2k for Pete Trego’s Benefit
During the tea interval of the first day of Somerset’s home LV=County Championship against Worcestershire at the County Ground the Taunton Area of Somerset CCC presented 2015 Beneficiary Pete Trego with a cheque for £2,650.
This was the amount of money that was raised by the Area Committee at their Annual Barbeque at Fitzhead earlier in the summer.
Mary Elworthy-Coggan, the Area Secretary, who along with husband Mike hosted the event said: “We had a great evening and a wonderful turn out, including virtually all of the Somerset players and raised a new record amount.
“Its great that we have been able to present a cheque for £2,650 to Pete Trego, a local player who is a real Somerset favourite. Over they years he has been a wonderful servant to the Club and deserves to do well from his benefit this year.”
The next event on the Taunton Area calendar is on Thursday December 10th when they host their Christmas Carol Luncheon in the County Room. Further details will follow later.
