Academy’s newest recruit shines at Bunbury Festival
Somerset Academy’s latest recruit Tom Lammonby has just enjoyed the biggest week of his young cricketing life, during which he helped the South West lift the prestigious Bunbury Under 15 Trophy as well as being presented with the Batting Award.
The 15 year old all rounder, who came up through the Devon age groups, signed up for the Academy at the County Ground before heading to Malvern College which hosted the Bunbury Festival this year.
Representing the South West, the Exeter based youngster opened his account with 54 in the 50 over match against the North. The next day Tom did even better and against the Midlands he hit 81 off 83 balls which included eight fours. Against London and the East the new Academy signing made 21.
The young left arm seamer also opened the bowling for the South West at Worcestershire’s New Road in the T20 match against the North and claimed two for 18.
Tom ended the week with 156 runs at an average of 52.20 in the 50 over competition that won him the Batsman of the Bunbury Festival Award.
