Lewis looking forward to Pakistan
The news that Somerset will be hosting Pakistan in a three day match in 2016 has been very warmly received by everyone at the Club both Members and Players and Supporters alike.
However one Somerset player in particular is looking forward to the game at the County Ground and that is Lewis Gregory who made his debut back in 2010 when the two sides last met.
Lewis, who was 18 at the time had just graduated through the Somerset Academy, grabbed his chance with both hands to claim four wickets in the match that Pakistan eventually won eight runs, in front of a full house.
Recalling the match Lewis said: I can remember I didn’t know until pretty late on that I was playing so there wasn’t too much time to get any nerves.
“To be able to make my Somerset debut against such top quality international team was really exciting and turned out to be not only enjoyable but also successful for me because I got four wickets.
“Its always nice to do well in the one day game, especially on your debut, because I have since learned that you can sometimes get hit around the park. To show what I could do from the word go and pick up some wickets against an international side was really pleasing, and the start of it all for me- albeit some of them were caught on the boundary!”
Lewis and the rest of his Somerset team mates are already looking forward to locking horns with Pakistan in 2016, so watch out for more details at the end of the season.
