Award winners revealed at End of Season Party
A packed County Room was treated to a night to remember yesterday evening as we held our End of Season Party.
The night began with welcome drinks in the Long Room before attendees made their way to the County Room for the evenings entertainment.
Club Chairman Andy Nash welcomed the guests and reviewed the 2015 season. He also made a presentation to departing President Roy Kerslake.
The first award of the night was the Presidents Champagne Moment and Mr Kerslake elected to present Marcus Trescothick and Tom Abell for the accolade for making centuries in the same match against Hampshire.
The Player in the Community Award, sponsored by Mailadoc, was presented to James Regan whilst the Supporters’ Player of the Year award which is voted for by Somerset fans and sponsored by Somerset County Sports was won by James Hildreth.
Tom Cooper scooped the One Day/T20 Player of the Year award which is sponsored by MJ Baker Foodservice Ltd and Adam Hose was presented with the Tom Pearce Award for the 2nd XI/Academy Player of the Year, sponsored by Kings College, Taunton.
The highly sought after Player of the Season trophy which is sponsored by St Austell Brewery went to James Hildreth following his amazing year with the bat.
The evening was closed by Chief Executive Guy Lavender as those present said an emotional farewell to James Regan, Adam Dibble, George Dockrell and Alfonso Thomas who will all be leaving the County during the winter. Indeed Thomas received a standing ovation from the large crowd as he bid goodbye to Somerset after having served the Club with such distinction.
