Max happy to extend his stay
It was announced last week that Max Waller was one of four Somerset players to sign new contracts with the County.
The 27 year old is delighted to have put pen to paper on a new deal. “I’m really pleased to have signed a new contract,” he said. “I’ve been at the Club for a long time now and I’m really happy to be extending my stay here. Being at this club is something that I’m really proud of and I want to achieve success with Somerset. It’s a great club with a great ground and great supporters.”
Max has established himself as one of the country’s leading one-day bowlers but is keen to push for a place in the Championship squad. “It’s an area of my game that I really want to improve. I’m going away to South Africa in the winter where I’ll be working hard on my batting and also my bowling. I want to improve in all formats but I’m going to target playing four-day cricket next season.”
Talking more about his plans for the winter Max said: “I’m going straight in to another season in South Africa and I’m playing some club cricket over there. I still feel quite fresh and I’m looking forward to another winter of full on cricket.”
