Somerset Pavilion: Latest
The outside of the new Somerset Pavilion is virtually complete and the focus of attention for the main contractors RG Spiller Ltd is putting the finishing touches to the interior of the impressive building.
Site foreman Sean Johnson said: “Things are coming on well for us and we are going down the home straight towards the finish. Once it is all done I think that everyone will be proud and it will be a great addition to the County Ground.
“Our focus now is putting the final fittings into the interior of the building. Over the next two weeks the inside of the building will transform rapidly so everything is coming on in the right way.”
Sean, who is Somerset through and through and has followed the fortunes of the Club all of his life, is proud to be a part of the project.
“To be involved with the Somerset Pavilion makes me feel very proud and hopefully it will stay in place as long as the one before! It is quite awe-inspiring really for me as a local Somerset lad.
As Sean explains, those who have been involved in the project have certainly been bitten by the cricket bug: “Even guys who didn’t like cricket before they came here have bought into it,” he said. “They all follow the games now when the team are here and they also get the results from the away matches too. They all discuss the Club now so this project has grown on everybody who has been involved with it.”
