Max in the wickets over the weekend
Several of the Somerset players who are wintering overseas have been in cricketing action over the weekend and enjoyed considerable success.
Both Tom Abell and Jack Leach who are based in Perth, Western Australia, have been involved with games, along with Max Waller who is playing for Milnerton CC in Cape Town.
Tom was playing for Fremantle against Scarborough who batting first were bowled out for 172 in 47.4 overs, the Somerset youngster claiming three wickets for 21 runs from his 10 overs.
In reply Fremantle were bowled out for 105 in 28.1 overs, Tom scoring one.
Playing for Wanneroo left arm spinner Jack starred with the bat scoring 34 of his team’s total of 186 all out in 49.4 overs against Joondalup.
Jack went to the wicket with the total on 88 for seven and helped to add 54 runs before he was out, his runs coming from 43 balls and included three 4s.
In reply Joondalup reached 190 for four, Jack ending with one for 28 from his 10 over stint.
Max was in the wickets over in South Africa, but despite a nine wicket match haul he ended on the losing side at the end of a close game.
In their first innings Milnerton scored 157 of which Max scored 14.
Replying the opposition were bowled out for 107, Max ending with three for 30 from his 12 overs, three of which were maidens.
Batting for a second time Milnerton were all out for 135, Max scoring seven and chasing 186 to win the opposition reached their target with two wickets to spare.
In the second innings Max ended with the impressive figures of six for 61 from his 21 overs including three maidens.
