Sophie scoops Cricket Society award
Somerset Women’s vice captain Sophie Luff has been named as the ‘Most Promising Young Women’s Cricketer of the Year 2015’ by the Cricket Society.
The 22 year old, who also plays for Bath Ladies and Somerset League side Lympsham, received the award at a ceremony in the Royal Over-Seas League Hotel in London.
Sophie, who scored three centuries in 2015 and helped Somerset Women to gain promotion to Division One in the Championship said: “It was a very special occasion and I’m very proud to receive this award, especially when you look back at previous winners like our very own Anya Shrubsole in 2008. It has capped off a wonderful season for me personally and hopefully I can really kick on this winter and continue to push for place in the England Women’s Performance Squad.”
Sophie was presented with the award by Sir Tim Rice.
