As Taunton is a small town, we are asking all spectators to plan their journeys to and from the Cooper Associates County Ground carefully. Please see some useful information below to help with this. Alternatively, why not download and print our match day guides: Public Notice and Car Park Facilities Flyer.
Walking to and from the Cooper Associates County Ground will be the quickest and easiest option if you are local to Taunton. Road Closures are also in place to ensure your safety.
If you are cycling to the Cooper Associates County Ground, there will be two stations you can park your bicycles: St James Street Car Park (in the ground) and the Viridor Car Park.
For those who will be driving to Taunton please be aware of the road closures which are listed below. Taunton is a small town and it is highly likely that there will be a reasonable level of traffic congestion on the day, particularly in the Town Centre.
To ensure all spectators are able to enter and exit the ground safely a traffic and transport plan has been agreed with Somerset Highways which will see a small number of road closures. These closures will be implemented from 14:00 until approximately 21:30. The following roads will be affected:
- St James Street from North Street to Priory Avenue
- Priory Avenue from St Augustine Street to St James Street
- St Augustine Street from Priory Avenue to Priory Bridge Road
- Canon Street from Canon Street Car Park to St James Street/Priory Avenue
- North Street from Bridge Street to the Burma Memorial
- Priory Bridge Road from Winchester Road to Dellers Wharf
Please note the red road closures will be active from 14:30 through to 17:30. The yellow road closures will be from 19:30 through to 21:30 approx.
Park and Ride – RECOMMENDED…
To try and minimise congestion in the Town Centre, we are recommending our spectators to make use of the two Park and Ride facilities. At just £2.40, the buses will drop you in the Town Centre which is a short five minute walk from the Ground:
- Taunton Gateway (East) – TA3 5LU
- Taunton Silk Mills (West) – TA1 5AA
On completion of the match, the buses will collect from the Town Centre from 20:45, with a service every 10 minutes through until 21:45.
There is no parking at the Ground. All normal car parks in the town will remain open, apart from the Coal Orchard Car Park which is closed from midnight on 23rd June.
Please note car parking will be limited due to the time our match is starting and residents finishing work. Please download this useful flyer which lists the various car parks and their postcodes.
The Cooper Associates County Ground is a short walk from both the mainline train station and bus station. When booking your transport, please bear in mind the match timings.
Taunton is served by a number of Taxi Companies, however we would recommend pre-booking these if required. To view a list of companies, please click here.

Bag Searches and Security
Due to recent events, every person entering the Ground will be subject to a wand search. For those bringing bags, these will also be checked too so we are therefore asking Spectators to only bring what is necessary.
Please note; we will also have a strong police presence and they are there for your safety.
We thank you in advance for your co-operation and patience with these checks.
As this is an International fixture; the following items will be confiscated at the Gates. If you refuse to handover these items, your entry will also be refused:
Please be aware that space at the CACG is extremely limited and there are certain “pinch points” which makes circulating the Ground difficult given the numbers we are expecting. As a result, everything you need in terms of toilet facilities, food and drink are within your zone and we kindly request Spectators to stay within these areas. For further information, please download the ground map below.
I’m in, now what?
Once you have entered the Ground, if you are sat in the Yellow, Red or Green zones, we kindly request you make your way to your seats on arrival to clear the flow of people surrounding the gates. Once you have settled yourselves, please do head back down to the various kiosks and facilities.
If you are in the Blue Zone, why not make the most of Somerset Square first? Various Sponsor activations are in this area along with food, drink and toilet facilities.
Subject to no delays, the Match is scheduled to be played as follows:
|•||Gates Open: 15:00|
|•||First Innings: 17:00 – 18:25|

Various outlets will also be opening serving a range of drinks from Pimms, Prosecco and Wine to our usual Beers and Ciders along with a variety of Soft Drinks. Hawkers will also be servicing the Stands so you will not always need to leave your seats!
As well as the Ground’s permanent toilet provision, additional Portaloo’s will be brought in to meet the demand. Please see the Ground Map for further details on their locations.
Both the ECB and Somerset CCC sponsors will be at the Ground and in Somerset Square with competitions and offering free giveaways.
Somerset County Sports
The Club Shop will be open on the evening in various locations selling both Somerset and England memorabilia and replica shirts.

Player Autograph Signings
We have been informed by the ECB that there will be no formal autograph signing session at the end of the match. The players are happy to be approached when convenient, for example as they warm up or at the end of the day.
