Somerset enjoyed another successful playing season in 2011, when they came runners up in the CB40 and FLt20 competitions as well as coming 4th in the County Championship. Due to reaching the FLt20 Final, Somerset also qualified to play in the Indian Champion’s League where we reached the semi finals.

Off the field Somerset’s team success has been replicated by an equally successful performance and the Club has just annouced that for the year ended September 30th 2011, it made a post tax profit of £408K. The largest operating profit the Club has seen, and this does not include the Indian Champion’s League money.

Andy Nash the Somerset Chairman said: “For some years our strategy has been settled and focused on delivering four main objectives: to compete in all formats of the game; develop our own players; improve our facilities/increase our capacity, and increase our financial strength. Recent results on and off the pitch show we are making good progress. Our challenge, which will be tough in such a difficult economic environment, is to maintain the progress we’ve made.”
