Tom played through the Somerset Age Groups before graduating from the Somerset Academy.

Somerset 2nd XI debut 2010 and named 2nd XI Player of the Year in 2013 having scored 1234 runs, average 40.13.

Somerset 1st Class debut versus Warwickshire in 2014, scoring 95.

In 2015 Tom scored 726 first class runs and he was voted the Break through County Championship Player of the Year.

Somerset T20 debut 2016.

Tom became the first former Somerset Academy player to be appointed Club Captain and in 2019 he led his team to their first trophy for 14 years when they won the RLODC.

In 2022 Tom scored over 1000 runs in a season for the first time. He hit five centuries including his highest score to date, 150 n.o. against Gloucestershire at Bristol. This stellar season culminated in Tom winning the Somerset Player of the Season, County Championship Player of the season and the Supporters Player of the Year awards.

Tom has also represented England Lions and MCC together with various T20 franchises around the World and Birmingham Phoenix in “The Hundred”.
