Jim joined Somerset on a three-year contract from Glamorgan before the start of the 2015 season and although born in Australia is England qualified.

The all-rounder began his First Class career with Leicestershire where he played between 2006 and 2009, when he moved to Glamorgan.

During 2015, Jim played in all 18 of Somerset’s First Class matches in which he scored 654 runs at an average of 23.36, with a best of 64 and took 23 wickets at 31.65.

In 2016 Jim appeared in 12 First Class matches scoring 446 runs at an average of 26.23 which included five scores over 50 with a best of 63 and took 21 wickets at 28.47, with a best of 4 for 67.

Jim captained Somerset in both the One-Day competitions and played a major role in enabling the side to reach the semi finals of the Royal London One Day Cup before they were beaten by Warwickshire at Edgbaston. He was the leading run scorer for Somerset in both white ball competitions.
