Job Title: Seasonal Grounds Person

Accountable to: Head Grounds Person

Contract: Full-time, fixed-term until 30th September

Hours: 40 hours per week to include weekends, evenings and bank holidays as required

Salary: Up to £8.91 per hour

Location: Cooper Associates County Ground and Taunton Vale Sports Club, Taunton

The Role

We have an unexpected vacancy in our grounds team for a fixed-term grounds person until 30th September, 2021. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to gain grounds experience at a first-class sporting environment. The main purpose of the role is to assist the Head Grounds person and wider grounds team in the preparation of all the pitches, nets and outfield of the CACG and TVSC to first class standard.

Our main requirements from the successful applicant are a keen desire to learn about and contribute to the preparation and maintenance of first-class cricket pitches, commitment and the ability to work as a team member in a demanding environment where excellent results are required. However, the following skills, knowledge and experience are desirable but not essential:

  • Relevant experience as a grounds person
  • NVQ/Diploma level 2 in turf science /groundsmanship or equivalent
  • Full driving licence.
  • Knowledge of modern sports turf processes and innovations
  • Appreciation and understanding of agronomic principals in turf
  • PA1/PA6

The Person

The ideal candidate will have a passion for cricket pitches and sports turf maintenance. You will have good attention to detail, be well organised and self-motivated. Your positive, can-do attitude and ability to form excellent working relationships supports you as a proactive team player. You take direction well but are also able to work on your own initiative when required. You are honest and reliable, flexible and adaptable with regards to working hours and patterns.

The Role

As Marketing Executive for Somerset County Cricket Club, you will have responsibility for supporting revenue growth at the Cooper Associates County Ground from conference and events, ticketing, membership and cricket perspectives. In short, you will work closely with the wider marketing team, providing support to ensure marketing activities effectively grow our membership and ticketing base, via e-marketing and other marketing campaigns and by ensuring we promote our range of services to the right customer segments. You relish meeting and exceeding targets and are driven to succeed. Your main areas of responsibility include audience acquisition and retention, email and SMS marketing, data management and growth strategies, market research, digital marketing campaigns, analysis of marketing effectiveness and presentation of results to key stakeholders and contribution to the overall marketing strategy with fresh and creative ideas.

To excel in this role the ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and experience:

 Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in executing integrated acquisition marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Skilled in developing audience segmentation, creative and messaging strategies.
  • An understanding of multi-variant testing approaches and relevant marketing technologies.
  • Experience with Web Analytics tools (ideally Tableau and Google Analytics) with an ability to draw conclusions and recommendations based on data.
  • Skilled in delivering creative ideas and innovative campaigns.
  • A strong collaborator and communicator.
  • Working knowledge of managing databases and Office suites.

Desirable

Previous experience in a membership, sport or venue business would be beneficial.

The Role

Somerset County Cricket Club are recruiting for a Commercial Accounts Executive with responsibility for the management of all SCCC’s and the ECB’s sponsorship partners. The successful applicant will need to ensure timely delivery of our partners’ sponsorship rights and demonstrate the positive impact of their partnership with us on their business. Simultaneously, you will cultivate existing relationships and identify new partners which will result in increased revenue spend with Somerset County Cricket Club/Cooper Associates County Ground. The role has wide-focus including management of brand delivery and activation for sponsors on match days, researching and identifying ways to deliver value to our partners, sourcing ways of driving revenue both within and outside of the sports sector, creating award-winning campaigns and monitoring the impact of our partnerships. Full and specific tasks and responsibilities are detailed in the job description.

To excel in this role the ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Essential

  • Extensive, demonstrable experience working within the Sports or Entertainment and Media Partnerships Industry
  • University degree, or equivalent qualification, in a related field.
  • Strong track-record of partnerships/new business in sports, entertainment and media.
  • Strong written and oral skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to help drive alignment among various stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, industry trends, new technologies and sports, entertainment and media industry trends.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • The ability to create sales presentations/material/collateral.
  • Track record of building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Experience running reports and exporting data from various platforms.
  • Conversant with google, twitter, Facebook, Instagram, you tube analytics

Desirable

  • CIM Diploma in Marketing
  • CIM Key Account Management
