Looking ahead to the match, Somerset Head Coach, Jason Kerr said: “We’ve had three fantastic performances. Momentum is vital in sport and confidence is high within the group. To go to Hampshire and perform like we did was great. Were were clinical with the ball, made really smart decisions and broke the back of the chase early on.

“The reality is that we’ve got guys who are playing incredibly well and are confident, so we’re naming the same squad.

“Sussex are a good side. Ravi Bopara has been around for a long time and is an incredibly gifted player. They are certainly dangerous and they’ve got a lot of experience.

“The support that we get from our Members and supporters is phenomenal. I say it time and time again, but we are incredibly fortunate. The atmosphere that’s generated here is second to none. It was great to see so many people here at the weekend and seeing things going back to normal. To see the guys being able to sign autographs again at the end of the match was something pretty special.”
