50-over County Championship Preview: Berkshire v Somerset

Somerset Women will be looking to build on Monday’s impressive win over Durham when they travel to North Maidenhead CC to take on Berkshire today (Sunday).

Ahead of the match Somerset Captain, Sophie Luff said: “Hopefully we can take a lot of confidence from our convincing win on Monday against Durham.

“We’ll have to be at our best again if we’re to overcome a strong Berkshire side but it’s an exciting challenge. None more so than coming up against former teammate Anya Shrubsole. Anya is a world class performer with the ball, so for our young batters to face her poses a great opportunity.

“I’ll be encouraging the girls to go about their business as we did on Monday. There’s a great energy around the group at the moment so it’s crucial that we keep that going. ”

The Somerset squad for the match is as follows: Emma Godman, Nicole Richards, Sophie Luff, Nat Wraith, Olivia Hamilton, India Owen, Niamh Holland, Cassie Coombes, Lorraine Szczepanski, Lauren Filer, Georgia Tulip and Tilly Bond.
