Another strong financial year for Somerset CCC

The 2017 accounts show another strong financial year for Somerset County Cricket Club.

The Club has achieved a pre-tax surplus of £421,226, and an EBITA of £618,904.

The Club benefited from hosting an International T20 and the ICC Woman’s World Cup, and these two events made significant contributions to the financial results. Catering and commercial continued to deliver excellent results, and the Club benefited from increased income from the ECB

Commenting on the results, Somerset Chief Executive, Lee Cooper, said, “The 2017 accounts are healthy, once again, and the excellent results reflect strong financial controls and robust management at the Club.

“As a cautionary note, it must be noted our pre-tax surplus fell by £175,474, and without the International T20 and ICC Woman’s World Cup, the 2017 pre-tax surplus would have been considerably less.

“Escalating costs will present the Club with challenges in the years ahead, but we remain prepared for these, and we’re committed to continually investing in our cricket squad.

“Our principle objective as a Club is to compete for, and win, trophies whilst providing our loyal supporters with outstanding entertainment in the comfort of excellent facilitates.

“I’d like to thank my colleagues at Somerset County Cricket Club for their unremitting commitment and it’s their contributions which make this Club one we’re very proud of, and one which we’re honoured to represent”.
