Busy few days for Somerset Women

It’s going to be a busy bank holiday weekend for Somerset Women.

The team play two 50-over County Championship matches in the space of as many days.

Firstly they take on Middlesex at Mill Hill School today (Sunday) before traveling to Kidderminster Victoria CC to take on Worcestershire on Monday.

Both matches start at 11am.

Ahead of the games, Somerset Captain, Sophie Luff said: “It’ll be a tough couple of games, but a great opportunity for us to fight back in this division. Last weekend we came agonisingly close to victory, and we’ll take a lot of confidence from that.

“It was a very tight game against Essex, and as captain I was incredibly proud of our efforts with the ball. Again it’s our batting that’s letting us down and it’s up to the top order to take responsibility and build partnerships in order for us to be competitive.”

The squad for the Middlesex match is as follows: Emma Godman, Nicole Richards, Sophie Luff, Nat Wraith, India Owen, Niamh Holland, Anna Parkinson, Jess Hazell, Lorraine Szczepanski, Lauren Filer, Tilly Bond, Georgia Tulip.

The squad for the Worcestershire match is: Emma Godman, Nicole Richards, Sophie Luff, Nat Wraith, India Owen, Niamh Holland, Cassie Coombes, Anna Parkinson,  Lorraine Szczepanski, Lauren Filer, Tilly Bond, Georgia Tulip.
