Eat The Bird opening in Taunton

A new restaurant is opening in Taunton!

Eat The Bird, which is situated in what was formerly The 12th Man in Coal Orchard, will open its doors to the public on May 3rd.

Owner and Chef Dan Aldridge explains what people can expect.  “Eat The Bird offers rotisserie chicken, fried chicken sandwiches, duck burgers, duck wraps, pies and also a wide range of vegetarian options,” he said.  “Our Birds Nest Lounge will be open for cake and coffee from 9am until 5pm with cocktails until 11pm whilst the restaurant will be open from 12pm to 10pm.”

So, how did Eat The Bird come about? “Around six years ago I started a business selling street food,” said Dan.  “It got to the stage where I had taken that as far as it could go, so I wanted a new challenge.  After speaking to Chris (Kenny, Owner and Front of House) we decided to start a street food based enterprise at festivals called Eat The Bird.  The plan was to turn up and do fried chicken sandwiches, wings and things like that because we found that chicken seemed to be the most popular.  However, one night we decided to open a restaurant and here we are!”
