Fakhar Zaman recalled by PCB

Director of cricket Matt Maynard has revealed this evening that unfortunately Fakhar Zaman will not be joining Somerset this season due to all Pakistani players being recalled to their country by the PCB.

Zaman had been granted a visa and was due to fly to the UK tomorrow but this will now not happen. A statement from the PCB reads:

“Owing to the late finalisation and rescheduling of the ICC World XI series to be played mid September, the PCB has been obliged to schedule its National T20 Cup to start end August and finish before the World series so that its national team can leave for UAE to play Sri Lanka starting 24th September.”

Matt has revealed that the Club are close to naming a replacement. Please see the video below for his comments in full.
