
From the Archive: Trescothick's maiden First Class century

Today we go back to June 1994.
Somerset welcomed Surrey to the Recreation Ground in Bath for a County Championship match, but little did anyone know that they were about to witness a little piece of history.
Marcus Trescothick went on to become one of England’s finest ever players but back in June 1994, he was a young cricketer trying to make his way in the game.
Mark Lathwell scored a superb double century, Somerset went on to win the match by 317 runs and a young Marcus completed the first of his 52 First Class centuries for Somerset.
We spoke to Marcus earlier this week to see what his memories of that match are:
