George and Ben impress in Australia

George Bartlett and Ben Green have been excelling in recent weeks in Australia.

The two young players are spending the winter Down-Under in order to gain valuable experience and they have both been in fine form for their clubs recently.

George made an impressive 85 from 135 balls for University of Western Australia in their total of 255 all out against Waneroo in their First Grade match.

Ben also caught the eye with the bat. He made 142 from 243 balls for Gosnells in their total of 345 all out against Midland-Guildford.

Somerset Head Coach Jason Kerr is delighted by how the two players have fared this winter. “It’s fantastic to see two young players gaining valuable experience playing in challenging foreign conditions,” he said. “The experience that they will gain will help to develop them both as players and as people.

“They both have a tremendous amount of natural talent which they have certainly shown in the last couple of weeks. It’s great to see them showing exactly what they can do in a competition that is of a very good standard.”
