Getting to Know You: Andy Hurry
Throughout the year we will be introducing you to the members of the Somerset CCC Team as well as meeting some of our Official Partners.
Each time someone will be answering a number of quick-fire questions.
Today it’s the turn of Andy Hurry, SCCC’s Director of Cricket.
Name: Andy Hurry.
Job title: Director of Cricket.
What exactly is it that you do? I oversee the cricket at SCCC. That involves recruiting players, both domestically and from overseas, line managing our Coaches, Sports Science & Medicine Staff and the Groundstaff at the Cooper Associates County Ground and Taunton Vale Sports Club. I also manage partnerships with Devon, Cornwall and Dorset cricket, and when required I support the Coaching Staff and get a tracksuit on and coach.

Best part of the job? The variety. No two days are the same.
Favourite sports person? Roger Federer. He is a legend.
Who would you most like to have dinner with past or present? Winston Churchill and Pope John Paul II.
What’s the best thing you’ve ever done? Been a dad.
Favourite place to eat? Harry’s in Exeter. Great fillet steak!
Favourite pub? White Horse, Bradford on Tone.
Describe yourself in five words. Honest, trustworthy and hard-working.
Favourite thing to do away from the office? Play cricket with my son.

What superpower would you like to have? To be able to heal the sick.
