Great Catch at Somerset CCC

As Somerset prepare to start the new cricket season, we are pleased to be able to announce that the matchday experience will be better than ever in 2019 thanks to the renovation of the fish & chip bar in the Sir Ian Botham Stand.

The outlet has been renamed “The Great Catch”, and whilst the location remains the same, the unit has undergone a complete rebuild and will utilise state of the art equipment which will mean that we will be able to serve a greater number of customers much more quickly as Catering General Manager, Sam Safe explains.

“The old fish & chip bar was over 20 years old,” she said. “Because of its age it was becoming apparent to us that the unit couldn’t keep up with demand.

“The Great Catch has an increased capacity and the new equipment that we’ve installed will ensure that our team are able to cook the food faster, meaning that we can produce a greater quantity in a shorter time.

“This increased efficiency will therefore reduce the queueing time for our customers. The quality of the food that we produce will also be improved.

“The Great Catch will be run by Paul Goodyer, who our supporters will know well because he has run our ice cream concession in the Somerset Stand for the last few seasons.

“We are all really pleased with how it looks and I’m sure that this renovation will improve the matchday experience for our Members and supporters, which is absolutely vital for us.”
