India 'A' v West Indies 'A'- as it happened.

India A secured a 1-0 series win over West Indies A following victory at the Cooper Associates County Ground today.

The final day of this second unofficial Test match began with India A on 214 for three, requiring 107 more runs to win with seven wickets remaining.

Just four runs had been added to the total when Ankit Bawne was bowled by Sherman Lewis for one and when Hanumi Vihari was run out for 68 the West Indies were 221 for five.

However, Rishabh Pant (67 not out) and Jayant Yadav (23 not out) saw their side to the required total as India A won the match, and therefore the series, by five wickets.


12.19- Pant works Shepherd down to backward square leg to move ont0 67 not out and India have won the match by five wickets. A good morning session has seen 107 runs scored off 21.1 overs, as the players leave the field, both sides line up to shake each others hand.

12.15- India are closing in on victory very quickly now with only 6 runs now needed as Pant has moved onto 65.

12.06- Runs coming thick and fast with 26 off the last 11 balls- game looks like it will soon be over.

12.00- Pant goes to his 50 with a boundary to long on off a full toss from Shepherd, his runs off 59 balls with nine 4s. Well batted a great innings.

11.47- 60 overs gone and India now need 48 for victory with five wickets remaining, Pant going well not out 45.

11.34- Drinks break after an hour India have moved onto 255 without further loss, still needing 66 for victory.

11.16- Lewis from the Somerset Pavilion End getting a lot of movement through the air- sitting behind the bowlers arm it is impressive.

11.07- Pant hits a classic cover drive to the boundary off Lewis to move onto 15.

11.03- The first half hour has seen two wickets falling and India now require 90 runs for victory with five wickets remaining. If West Indies can take a couple more wickets in the near future the game could become interesting.

10.51- Wicket- Vihari goes, run out for 68- great throw from the boundary by Warrican-221/5.

10.41- Wicket- Bawane is out bowled by Lewis for 1 making India 218 for 4, off 48.4 overs.

10.24- All set for the off here with India needing 107 to win with seven second innings wickets remaining. Here come the umpires followed by the West Indian players and Indian not batsmen. It will be Vihari to face Lewis from the Somerset Pavilion End.
