Jez Curwin to Depart Somerset CCC
Somerset’s Head of Commercial Operations, Jez Curwin, will be leaving the Club over the summer to become the CEO of Canterbury Cricket in New Zealand. The Club will be making an interim appointment to take over Jez’s responsibilities and will then recruit a full time replacement in the autumn.
Somerset’s Chairman, Andy Nash, said: “Jez has made a major contribution to the development and success of our commercial strategy and consequently has boosted the Club’s financial strength substantially, leaving a strong legacy. The excellence of our commercial operation was recognised last year when Somerset swept the board winning three awards at the ECB’s prestigious Business of Cricket Awards.
“Whilst we shall be sad to see Jez move on, it is a source of great pride to Somerset that another of our senior managers has moved onwards and upwards to a high profile and prestigious role. CEO of Canterbury Cricket is a terrific opportunity and we wish Jez and Sarah every future success and thank them for all they have done for Somerset County Cricket Club.”
Jez Curwin said: “I would like to take this opportunity to firstly thank everyone associated with the Club for all of their support over the last five years. Sarah, Charlie and I have loved being a part of such a wonderful Club, however the chance to take the family on a new adventure to New Zealand was one that we couldn’t turn down. I am proud to have been part of such a successful period here at Somerset, culminating in winning three awards at last years’ industry awards and more recently the NatWest IT20 last week. A particular thanks must go to my colleagues in the office who work incredibly hard behind the scenes to make the Club work and also to our Commercial Partners”.Back to News
