Kasey Aldridge joins the Academy

Fast bowler Kasey Aldridge, who is also a more than useful middle order batsman, will be joining the Somerset Academy this autumn after spending two years on the Potential Somerset Player Programme.

Kasey, who is 17-years-old and stands six-feet four-inches tall, attends Millfield School and has played all the way through the Somerset age groups.

After signing his contract Kasey said: “I’m really excited at the prospect of joining the Somerset Academy.  I’ve had a really good season and now I’m looking forward to getting started this winter.”

Kasey talked us through some of the highlights of his 2018 season.

“I think that being selected for the Super4s at Loughborough and in the three-day competition, where I managed to score my first century for Somerset and take four wickets in the second innings, are the best things from the season for me,” he said. “I know that I’ve got a lot of hard work ahead of me, but I’m really looking forward to both the mental and the physical side of things. I’m looking forward to pushing on with both bat and ball.”

Looking ahead Kasey said: “Hopefully I will get to play in some Second XI games next year and I’m looking forward to that. My long term aim is to play Test cricket for England.”

Kasey plays his club cricket for WEPL side Brislington.
