Member Ballot Open
Somerset County Cricket Club’s Members ballot for fixtures which are scheduled to take place at the Cooper Associates County Ground between May 17th and June 21st is still live.
Members may enter the ballot online by using the links below.
The Club has organised additional resources to allow the volume of incoming calls anticipated to be managed efficiently and to minimise waiting times for Members. These resources are now in place. Members who would prefer to enter the ballot by telephone should call 01823 425301. Please do bear with us during this period and complete the form online if you are able too.
The ballot window will remain open until May 10th and it should be stressed that there is no advantage given to Members who apply first. All applications received up until 10th May will be treated equally.
If you currently do not receive regular emails from the Club, please advise us of your email address to ensure you are added to the distribution list. You can do this by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
We understand that this is not some people’s preferred form of communication, but with Government regulations and restrictions changing at short notice, this really is the only way we can communicate with Members effectively. If you do not have an email address yourself, perhaps you can consider registering one owned by a relative or friend.
Please see below a number of Frequently Asked Questions which may assist you.
How will the Club manage reduced capacity crowds?
Recent work undertaken at the Cooper Associates County Ground has identified that, with social distancing measures in place, along with additional protocols to further protect the playing environment, the Ground will be able to hold just under 2,000 spectators.
Somerset County Cricket Club has a strong Membership base and eligible Members will be given priority access to these fixtures. As a result, such matches will not go on general sale unless Government guidance changes to allow a higher capacity.
In order of priority, the following groups are eligible to enter the Ballot process:
- 2021 Early Bird Eligible Members (2021 Members who would be entitled to attend the fixture under “normal” circumstances)
- 2021 Other Members (2021 Members who purchased after the Early Bird window and also those who would not be entitled to attend the fixture under “normal” circumstances)
- Register your Interest Group (Supporters who have recently filled in an online form to gain priority access.
- General Ticket Purchasers
To enter the Ballot, to ensure a safe environment for all attendees, Members will be required to opt into the 2021 COVID-19 Spectator Code of Conduct and subsequent amendment to the Ground Regulations.
Why is a ballot being used to decide who can come to the ground?
A ballot system has been selected as the method of allocating attendance in order to make the booking process fairer, as well as giving as many of our Members as possible the opportunity to attend these fixtures at some point over the summer.
How will the ballot work?
BALLOT: STEP BY STEP PROCESS
2021 Eligible Members will be invited to enter ballots for individual match days scheduled at the Cooper Associates County Ground from today. This will initially be an online only process with telephone applications being accepted from April 19th.
Premium Members will enter a separate Ballot but will also be able to opt into the Ground Ballot in the event they are unsuccessful.
Ground Members will be allocated specific seats within the ground and will be required to adhere to social distancing measures. Club and One Day Category Status will be taken into consideration when allocating successful members from the Ballot.
The ballot will close on Monday May 10th.
The ballot will be drawn and fixtures assigned during the week commencing May 17th.
Successful Members will be contacted via email or telephone and their seats allocated in the ground. Somerset will continue this process until all available seats have been claimed. We will endeavour to contact Members two weeks in advance of their successful fixtures.
Successful Members who have confirmed their attendance will be sent an E-Ticket which will be required to enter the ground on the match day. Membership cards without a ticket, will NOT be valid for these match days. Additional important information with regards to the ground setup will also be included in this mailing.
Are all Members automatically entered into the ballot?
All Members will need to enter the ballot manually, this will not be automatic. This can be done via this website and by telephone.
How will you ensure that the ballot is fair?
A ticket ballot allows us maximum flexibility with socially distanced seating and allows a fair allocation process for the reduced capacity that will be permitted at the Cooper Associates County Ground during this period. The first draw for the ballot (Day 1 v Hampshire) will be drawn randomly and then the subsequent ballots for days 2 – 4 will be done manually and fairly to try and ensure an even distribution of attendance for all those who enter the ballot.
Will additional safety measures be in place at the Cooper Associates County Ground?
Whilst social distancing guidelines are in place you will be asked to strictly adhere to these and any ECB and Government guidelines whilst inside the Cooper Associates County Ground. You will be required to wear a face covering at times, follow social distancing rules, sit only in your allocated seat and maintain regular hand hygiene practices. Entry to the ground will be by named gates and one-way systems will be in place. Members will also be asked to adhere to our new Spectator Code of Conduct
When will my Membership Pack arrive?
Membership Packs will begin to be issued from May 17th. Members are reminded that if they are successful in the ballot they will require their e-ticket to gain access to the Cooper Associates County Ground. A Membership card alone will not grant you admittance.
