National Lockdown: Closure of the Cooper Associates County Ground

Following the news over the weekend that England will be subject to a national lockdown from Thursday November 5th to at least Wednesday December 2nd, it is with regret that Somerset County Cricket Club have to confirm the following arrangements for our services within the Cooper Associates County Ground:

The Club Offices will remain closed to the public and a reduced staffing team will be working remotely. To make contact, please call 01823 425301 (Mon-Fri, 10am to 4pm) or email Please note, due to a reduced workforce, our response times may be slower than usual, and we would ask for your patience and co-operation in this regard.

Stragglers Coffee House:

The Stragglers Coffee House will be closed with immediate effect and for the duration of the national lockdown.

SCCC Shop:

The SCCC Shop will remain closed to the public. However, our online shop is stocked with many items that would make perfect Christmas presents and remains functional during this period. Please visit: Due to reduced staffing numbers, online purchases will be dispatched once a week, every Thursday evening. To make contact, please call 01823 425301 (Mon-Fri, 10am to 4pm) or email

Conference & Events:

Our Conference & Event business remains closed until further notice. The Commercial Team will be contacting those who have made existing bookings for November and December to discuss your revised options. New enquiries will still be taken during this period but we may need to wait for clarity on what events may be held under revised COVID-19 restrictions before confirming.

Car Parks:

The St James Street and Priory Bridge Road Car Parks will be closed to the public throughout the national lockdown period.

Please note, our professional players and coaching staff will continue to train and work from the ground under strict COVID-19 safety protocols as elite sport is exempt from these new lockdown measures under elite sport.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Somerset County Cricket Club have had two key focuses: long term financial sustainability and duty of care to its players, staff, members, supporters, and visitors. These revised measures will allow us to protect our environment on both fronts and have not been taken lightly. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and look forward to welcoming our Members and supporters back to the Cooper Associates County Ground in 2021.
