New fitter and healthier Stumpy ready to go!
Over the course of the winter one member of Somerset County Cricket Club in particular has been putting in the hard yards.
Somerset mascot Stumpy joined the players in their strict fitness programme during the close season, but whilst the players have turned their attention to cricket, our mascot has continued to work hard in the gym.
He has been working through a stringent strength & conditioning programme whilst at the same time eating much more healthily.
The results are clear for all to see as we now unveil the new look Stumpy!
He is now a fitter, leaner and healthier wyvern than he was six months ago. The new regime has seen him shed the pounds and tone up his muscles.
The new healthier Stumpy will be getting more active this season too!
Not only will he be a regular at all of our home Royal London One-Day Cup and Vitality Blast matches, he will also be going out on the road with Somerset Cricket Board.
Stumpy will be joining our excellent coaches to help deliver All Stars cricket and Chance to Shine sessions across the region as well as showing young people the benefit of a healthy lifestyle.
Keep your eye out for Stumpy! He could be appearing at your school or cricket club soon!Back to News
