Open Day a Big Success
More than 200 Somerset supporters attended a special open day at the Cooper Associates County Ground today (Thursday January 20th).
The free event was designed to showcase everything that Somerset County Cricket Club has to offer.
The open day began at 11am in the County Room where attendees were welcomed by SCCC Commercial Director, Caroline Herbert.
This was followed by an intriguing Q&A session with Club Captain, Tom Abell, who thanked those present for their unwavering support.
The event gave those in attendance the chance to:
- Watch players train with live commentary from the Club’s coaching staff
- Enjoy a behind the scenes tour of the Cooper Associates County Ground
- Have a guided tour of Somerset Cricket Museum
- Witness bat making demonstrations at Millichamp & Hall
- Visit Somerset County Sports and the SCCC Shop
Following the tours, people were given the chance to sample our new catering offerings, whilst listening to a talk on the Somerset Cricket Foundation from Managing Director, Jon Bendle.
SCCC Director of Cricket, Andy Hurry then gave his thoughts on the 2022 fixtures and the season that lies ahead.
Following the event, Caroline Herbert said: “Today was a fantastic event and it was great to see so many of our Members and supporters at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
“It’s been a difficult two years and it meant so much to everyone associated with the Club that so many people joined us today.
“Our Members are the heartbeat of the Club, and it’s been really nice to hear so much positive feedback regarding the day.”
