Vitality Blast Prediction Game Winners

Friday 30th of August saw one of the most explosive nights of batting ever at the Cooper Associates County Ground. Middlesex were successful in their run chase, responding to what looked like a mammoth 226 for five from Somerset.

Captain Tom Abell scored his first T20 century as Somerset posted their highest T20 total of the season. Supporters of Somerset would have been thrilled to witness such a score, but none more so than our competition winners!

The Commercial team, with the help of Match Sponsors Dirty Dog and Cider Partner Thatchers, were able to give guests in County Room Hospitality, the Long Room and the 1875 Club the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes by guessing the first innings score!

The County Room was full to capacity, with 247 guests joining us. Of those 247, Bill Mitchell, guest of the Lovelock Mitchell Group, predicted 225 runs to be scored in the first innings. On what happened to be Bill’s 80th birthday, he had the first choice of prizes on offer and he duly picked a replica Vitality shirt signed by the entire Somerset playing squad. Andrew Farley and Nathan Lewis, both part of the BASF party, predicted scores of 225 and 223 respectively. As the closest predictor, Andrew chose a pair of Dirty Dog sunglasses, as Nathan was awarded a bottle of Thatchers Family Reserve for his guess.

Long Room Platinum Members attending the match were also given the opportunity to win prizes by predicting the first innings score. The three members with the closest guesses were (pictured left to right) Graham Harvey, Sue Boobyer and David Barber. Their prizes of a signed replica shirt, a pair of Dirty Dog sunglasses and a bottle of Thachers Family Reserve were presented by the Commercial Team during the 2nd Innings. Jo Uden of the 1875 Club had the closes guess amongst the 1875 Members, winning herself a bottle of Thatchers Family Reserve to enjoy.

The Commercial Team would like to thank Thatchers Cider and Dirty Dog in providing prizes for our competition winners!
