VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Ahead of the game, Somerset Captain, Sophie Luff said: “It was a good start from the girls last week. To win two out of two is really pleasing especially as it was against our local rivals Gloucestershire.
“To captain Somerset at the Cooper Associates County Ground is something that means a lot to me. I’ve not led the team out at the venue before, so it will be a real honour. It will be a special day for us all and hopefully we can put in some good performances.
“To be playing at the Cooper Associates County Ground means a lot to us all. It’s definitely a step in the right direction and it’s something that I’ve been pushing for. It shows the direction that women’s cricket is going in and how much that Somerset value it.”
Head of Talent Pathway, Matt Drakeley said “We’re very proud of our women’s side and I’m delighted that the players have the opportunity to represent their county at The Cooper Associates County Ground.
“I’m hopeful that this is something that can continue in the future and allow us to showcase the quality of women’s cricket in Somerset.”
