Recognition for Pathway Players
Seven Somerset Pathway players were recently rewarded with selection to represent the South and West at the annual U17 Super 4s Week and the U15 Bunbury Week.
Academy players, Josh Thomas and Archie Vaughan were joined by PSPP players Ollie Heard and Jack Harding at Super 4s at the National Cricket Performance Centre at Loughborough University.
The Super 4s Week sees regional teams from the South and West, East, Midlands and the North play against each other in 50-over matches as well as a T20 day on the final day.
Josh finished the competition with 153 runs, including a best of 11 at an average of 30.6, whilst Archie scored 50 runs, took four catches and claimed four wickets at an average of 17.75 with a best of two for 14.
Ollie contributed 24 runs and was the team’s third highest dot-ball percentage rate, whilst Jack, who represented the Midlands, claimed six wickets with a best of two for 12.
In the U15 Bunbury Week, which will also take place in Loughborough from the 5th to the 9th of August, James Matravers, Kian Roberts and Thomas Rew will represent Somerset in the South and West team led by Head of Talent Pathway, Matt Drakeley.
Regarding these selections, Matt Drakeley said: “Selection for the South and West side is recognition for all of the hard work that the boys have put in this past winter alongside early season performances. We look forward to following their progress as they represent Somerset at the two festivals.”
