SCCC to celebrate the work of the NHS
Somerset County Cricket Club will be celebrating the work of the NHS during our LV= Insurance County Championship match against Warwickshire at the Cooper Associates County Ground this week.
NHS staff from across the South West have been invited to attend all four days of this match for free.
Over 1200 NHS workers are expected to join us during the game, and representatives of the following NHS Trusts have already confirmed their attendance: South-West Ambulance Service, Taunton Musgrove, Yeovil Hospital, Bath RUH, Royal Devon & Exeter, Weston Super-Mare & Bristol Trust, University Hospital Plymouth, Cornwall CCG, Torbay & South Devon and Devon Partnership Trust.
Regarding the event, SCCC CEO, Gordon Hollins said: “We are absolutely delighted to be celebrating the excellent work that the NHS carry out across the region and indeed throughout the country as a whole. The last few years have highlighted the importance of the role the NHS plays, and we will continue to work closely with Love Musgrove, amongst others, to ensure that we as a Club do whatever we can to support those on the front line whenever we can.”
A number of the Somerset players will also be warming up in a special limited edition NHS shirt, which was designed by 12-year-old Tom Clarke in 2020.
The Love Musgrove charity will also be the match sponsor.
Love Musgrove and Our Charity, the official charity of Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, is celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2022 with an Appeal to support projects right across the County.
