Second XI Championship: Hampshire v Somerset
Hampshire wrapped up a 277-run win on the final day of this Second XI County Championship at the Ageas Bowl.
Resuming on 110 for seven, Somerset were dismissed for 155.
Hampshire resumed on 170 for two and by lunch they had advanced to 293 for four, with Zen Malik unbeaten on 148.
Malik eventually made 171 as the hosts were dismissed for 417.
By the close of play Somerset were 110 for seven, still requiring 323 runs for victory.
Play is due to get underway at 10:30am today.
Somerset will begin their first innings this morning after Hampshire were dismissed for 186 yesterday evening.
The visitors made a solid start and had reached 101 for one, but unfortunately for Somerset they slipped to 171 all out after the break. George Bartlett top scored with 59.
By the close of play, Hampshire were 170 for two, a lead of 185 runs.
Somerset travel to the Ageas Bowl this week to take on Hampshire in the Second XI Championship.
Play was due to get underway at 10:30 am this morning, but rain has resulted in delayed start.
Somerset won the toss and elected to bowl. The game eventually got underway at 1:44pm.
By the time the tea interval arrived, the hosts had reached 101 for three from 28 overs.
At the close of play, Hampshire were all out for 186. George Barlow was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three for 51.
