Second XI Championship: Somerset v Glamorgan - Match Drawn
Somerset concluded their 3 day match against Glamorgan at Taunton Vale today
Resuming 62/1, Glamorgan advanced their score to 208/7 before declaring. Nathan Gilchrist was the pick of the attack with 2 for 38 from 12.3 overs.
Somerset then batted well in the 4th innings and Eddie Byrom continued his good form with 90 from 137 balls before being caught and bowled by Douthwaite. Ben Green also chipped in with an unbeaten 61 from 137 balls.
Both teams shook hands with the score 165/2 in the 47th over.
Coach Greg Kennis has named the following squad for the game: Eddie Byrom, Sam Young, Ben Green, Lewis Goldsworthy, Tim Rouse, Ben Wells, Charlie Reed, Josh Davey, Ollie Sale, Nathan Gilchrist, Paul Van Meekeren and Rich Jerry (Hampshire).
Entry and parking at Taunton Vale is free and plenty of seating is available.

An unbeaten century from Tim Rouse was the feature of day two of Somerset’s Second XI Championship match against Glamorgan at Taunton Vale where by the close the visitors led by 157 runs with nine second innings wickets remaining.
At the start of the day Glamorgan declared on their overnight score of 341 for seven.
The Somerset reply got off to the worst possible of starts as the top four batsmen all failed to reach double figures and the hosts found themselves 31 for four in the 13th over.
At this stage Rouse was joined by Ben Wells who between them added 94 together before the latter was out for 54 off 103 balls with six 4s.
Rouse then found valuable support from Josh Davey who made 28 out of a partnership of 77 for the sixth wicket before he was out with the total on 202 at which stage tea was taken.
Somerset lost another wicket immediately after tea soon after which Rouse went to his century off 204 balls with 13 fours.
New batsman Ollie Sale then hit a rapid 37 off 34 balls with five 4s and a six before he was out with the score on 246 at which stage Somerset declared leaving Rouse not out 106.
Batting for a second time Glamorgan had moved onto 62 for one by the close, the wicket falling to Lewis Goldsworthy.
Somerset continue their Second XI Championship campaign when they host Glamorgan in a three day game at Taunton Vale that gets underway at 11am.
The visitors won the toss this morning and opted to bat. They made a solid start to the match before Cooke was well caught by Charley Reed behind the wicket off the bowling of Jerry.
Ollie Sale then accounted for two further Glamorgan batsmen as they entered lunch at 86 for four. Lewis Goldsworthy also struck, winning an LBW against Taylor.
Into the afternoon session is was the visitors who had the better of it with Cullen forming partnerships with both Douthwaite and Reingold. He passed 50 from 142 balls.
The visitors continued to bat well in the evening session and Cullen reached a fine century from 241 balls. Glamorgan end the day 341/7Back to News
