Second XI T20: Somerset v Warwickshire
Somerset were beaten by 73 runs by Warwickshire in the Second XI T20 competition at Taunton Vale Sports Club today.
Somerset won the toss and elected to bowl.
At the end of the six-over powerplay, the visitors had reached 67 without loss.
Somerset made their initial breakthrough in the ninth over with 82 on the board when Ed Pollock was bowled by Sonny Baker for 51 from 30 balls.
The score had advanced to 98 when former Somerset batsman Adam Hose was caught by Ben Green off the bowling of Max Waller for 39.
98 for two soon became 112 for four as the Somerset bowlers began to turn the screw.
By the end of their allotted overs, the visitors had reached 177 for seven. Jack Brooks claimed two for 35 and there was also two wickets for Green.
Somerset lost Sam Young (14) and Greg Willows (26) in the powerplay, and by the end of the six-over period the hosts were 48 for two. Tom Lammonby (1) then fell without further addition to the score.
Unfortunately for the hosts, only three other players made double figures as Somerset were dismissed for 104 from 16.4 overs.
