Second XI T20: Worcestershire v Somerset

A young Somerset side lost out to Worcestershire by 10 wickets at New Road in the Central Group of the Second XI T20 competition today (Tuesday May 24th).

Play was due to get underway at 11am, but rain delayed the start. Play eventually began just before 12:30pm.

The match was reduced to 17 overs per side.

Worcestershire won the toss and elected to bowl.

A young Somerset side slipped to 39 for four, but 47 off 32 balls from Will Smale helped the visitors to reach 132 from their allotted overs. Charlie Morris was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three for 48.

Ed Pollock and Brett D’Oliveira then shared a match winning opening stand of 134 from 11 overs as Worcestershire eased to victory
