Shirt Design Competition

With schools across the country now officially closed and people being urged to stay at home, we are aware that you might need a little assistance in helping to pass the time.

Somerset County Cricket Club are here to help!

We have launched Inside Edge to help keep children and adults informed, entertained and engaged, and to help take the strain off parents.

Inside Edge will see us post a number of special features and activities across our digital platforms over the course of the next few weeks.

Activities for children will range from creative writing assignments and cricket based maths activities to colouring and art. We will be posting a school style assignment or challenge every Thursday and a fun game or activity on a Monday.

DESIGN A SOMERSET CCC SHIRT

Today we’re giving you the chance to have a go at designing your very own playing shirt. It can be for the Vitality Blast, Royal London Cup or the County Championship.

All your children have to do is write an essay about their favourite Somerset player.

The winners will get to meet their player at the Cooper Associates County Ground later this year.

Here are the criteria:

  • The essay must be about a current Somerset CCC player.
  • It must be a maximum of 500 words long.
  • You will need to research your player thoroughly because we want to know: when and where they were born plus whether they are a batter, a bowler or an all rounder.
  • The essay must also include five important or interesting facts about your player.
