Somerset CCC remembers David Foot

Family, friends and colleagues of David Foot gathered at Somerset County Cricket Club yesterday (Tuesday) to remember the man who is regarded as being one of the finest cricket writers of his generation.

David passed away earlier this year, and to mark his outstanding contribution to the game, the Cricket Writers Club commissioned a commemorative plaque which has been mounted on the wall in the media centre at the Cooper Associates County Ground.

The plaque was officially at a special ceremony by David’s daughter Julia and son Mark.

Vic Marks was present to recall some of his memories of David, and the family were joined by friends and a number of cricket journalists including Scyld Berry, Richard Latham and Richard Walsh.
