Somerset Women T20 Preview

Somerset Women begin their 2019 T20 campaign with a double-header at Taunton School tomorrow (Sunday).

Somerset take on Essex at 10:30am and this will be followed by a match against Yorkshire at 4:30pm.

Ahead of the match Somerset Captain, Sophie Luff said: “We’re looking forward to a change of format this weekend. We’re starting off with a home round at Taunton School and it’ll be great if we can get build some momentum early in the competition.

“We’re obviously disappointed with how results have gone in the 50-over format, but there have been some great signs. Some of the young girls have really stepped up, and the way we’ve bowled and fielded has been a consistent strength.

“T20 allows you to play with more freedom and I’m keen to let the girls go out there and express themselves.”

Somerset have selected the following squad for these matches: Olivia Hamilton, Nat Wraith, Sophie Luff (c), Emma Godman, Nicole Richards, India Owen, Niamh Holland, Jess Hazell, Lorraine Szczepanski, Georgia Tulip, Tilly Bond and Hannah Capes.
