Spotlight on: Cooper Associates
Cooper Associates have been proud Ground Naming Rights Partner of Somerset County Cricket Club since the start of the 2016 season.
The firm has a very strong association with cricket. In addition to having the naming rights to the Cooper Associates County Ground, they are also proud to have Jack Leach, Tom Banton and Jos Buttler as Brand Ambassadors for the company, as well clients of their business.
Cooper Associates provide advice on financial matters from three distinct brands.
Cooper Associates Mortgages is an award-winning mortgage advisory service, delivering tailored mortgage and insurance advice. Cooper Associates Wealth Management offers advice on investments, pensions and inheritance tax. Cooper Associates Accountants provides accountancy services to individuals and businesses.
Cooper Associates staff can regularly be seen at the Cooper Associates County Ground. A number of their staff events are hosted at the Ground each year and the Cooper Associates hospitality box, located within the new Somerset Pavilion, is often filled with staff and invited guests on matchdays. Each year Cooper Associates offer their hospitality box to local charities, who then put the box up for auction at gala dinners and fundraising events. Over the past four years this has helped raise tens of thousands of pounds for local good causes, such as St Margaret’s Hospice and The Tony Coles Trust. Cooper Associates have recently launched their own Foundation, which further supports the local community.
Their staff contains a number of former Somerset players. Carl Gazzard and Charl Willoughby will be well known to Somerset supporters and they now enjoy successful second careers as financial consultants within their wealth management division. Kevin Parsons is Managing Director of the Accountancy Practice and James Regan is a mortgage adviser.
Lee Cooper, CEO and founder of Cooper Associates Group, is a former Chief Executive of Somerset CCC.
As the Cooper Associates County Ground has developed over recent years, so have their offices, which are based in St James Street, just a six hit away from the cricket ground. They recently expanded their headquarters, extending their existing premises into the offices which were previously occupied by the Somerset County Gazette. This expansion supports their future growth plans, as well as providing space for new client meeting rooms, boardroom and a fully equipped gym.
It has been a very successful partnership – both on and off the pitch.
